Your new-born baby's tummy is a lot smaller than those bottles or that formula Prep machine suggests....
At birth, your baby's tummy only has a 5-7ml volume so don't expect them to down a 60ml bottle....by end of the first week, they might be able to take that 60mls.
Remember that if you're able to feed your new-born colostrum for the first couple of days, either directly, or via syringe, bottle or spoon, they may only take tiny feeds at a time but each feed is filled with nutrient richness so don't worry about the small quantities! That's the magic of breast milk for you!
Your baby is unlikely to take as much as 120mls (the minimum amount I've seen some formula Prep machines make....) until their at least a month old and many breastfed babies may only ever take around this amount, or up to 150ml until they start solids at 6 months.
Of course, all babies are different so follow your baby's cues hunger cues and fullness signals and don't force your tiny new-born to finish a whole bottle to avoid stretching their tummy, making them potentially need more next time, and causing discomfort.
Remember, babies are designed to feed little and often, held close so their signs of hunger can be noticed quickly and they can have little top-up's...day or night.
