Sure, we all agree that tiny baby hats are adorable! It's undeniable!
And, when the outside temperature drops considerably and we're all donning our furry ear protectors, then of course! Hat up your tiny baby!
However...
1. Your baby does not need to wear a hat as soon as they are born 'to keep them warm' or whatever reason the person donning your baby in a pink knitted tea-cosy says! Being skin-to-skin with you will regulate your baby's temperature. Plus, if wearing a hat, you lose the benefit of that oxytocin-inducing new-born head smell that aids your bonding and the start of your breastfeeding journey!
2. If you've just been on a brisk walk all wrapped up, and walked through the door, you should remove you baby's hat (just like you do your own!) to stop your little one overheating.
Now, go and give your baby's head a good sniff, you know you want to!
